V8 Supercar Driver Steven Johnson has joined the team

The son of Ford icon Dick Johnson, Steven has stamped himself as one of the consistent performers in the V8 Supercar Championship Series. After debuting as a teenager in a wild rotary-powered Datsun 1600 Sports Sedan, Johnson got his first V8 shot in 1994 as an endurance driver with Dick Johnson Racing.
From there the Queenslander had to bide his time, regularly proving himself in the Sandown and Bathurst endurance events as well as competing in other forms of motorsport to keep his race miles up. Stepping up as a full-timer following his father’s retirement at the end of 1999, Johnson Jnr has become a regular at DJR and enters his 11th successive season as a full-time driver for the team.

With six rounds remaining in the 2010 series including the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 and the Norton 360 Sandown challenge Steve will be pushing hard to cement his top 10 position. Follow Steve and the team progress at:
